The Power of "Sedekah"

Our journey would be fulled with unexpected 'events' but don't take it as downfall of your life. Take it as challenges so that you would be a better person.

Salam and Hi to you;

Alhamdulilah we have been thru 75% of Ramadhan Holy month. I hope that all of us have successfully fasting without facing big difficulties except when it comes to food and beverages.

That is how we start to be aware about other unfortunate people who being forced to starve due to lack of these privileges. Sometimes it is not because they are lazy to find the ‘rezeki’ but it is beyond their controls. Some of them have to live in a country where war is part of their lives such as Palestine, Iraq, African countries and others. Sometimes, these unfortunate people have to live in poor countries. Others, orphanage and some people who suddenly lost their breadwinners due to tragic accidents. Bottom line is during this month we as a muslim should be grateful that we still can have any food that we like, breaking fast anywhere that we like and enjoy this fasting month without any fear and insecurity.

Another common thing and really encouraged in Islam is giving money or necessity items to the needy. In Malay we refer it as “sedekah”or donation in English. We don’t have to trouble ourselves by giving a big large of amount of money but it should be sincerely from bottom of your heart. There is pointless, for us to donate by it is by force.

For example, a person named as Mira is persuading this man to donate for the charity organization and due to get ‘pahala’ this man without any hesitation give RM5 to her. Mira immediately refuse to receive this RM5 from this man unless this man willing to donate RM10 as a minimum of donation. In this case, there are couple of misconception of ‘sedekah’ occur. 1st, Mira should not put any condition in receiving the donation and she should accept any amount of money although it is a small amount of money.2nd, due to the condition that being imposed by Mira, the man feels that he has been forced to donate. Therefore, the sincerity is gone.

The POWER of ‘sedekah’
There are a lot of benefits of sedekah but people don’t realize it. Allah says we would not be poor if we keep donating. In fact, we would be getting richer!
Don’t be surprise of the fact. In my previous celoteh I have been talking about “pengantara rezeki”. The effectiveness of ‘pengantara rezeki’ is proven in this situation. If you keep donating to anyone with sincerity you would find that there would be unexpected ‘rezeki’ comes to you.

For instance,
  1. Suddenly you get promotion and increment in salary.
  2. You would receive additional money.
  3. Your life would not be as difficult as before and everything would be perfect and what you have expected it to be.
  4.  You would be receiving whatever that you have wished before this.
  5.  You would always be loved by Allah creatures no matter where you go.
  6.  You would be respected by your friends and peers.

The greater that you’ve donated, the greater the rewards you would received. Have you ever heard this gold quote

“THE MORE YOU GIVE, THE MORE YOU GET”

This is not an ordinary quote. Only people who have applied this quote in their lives would know the power of it. By right, we wouldn’t know the power of the theory unless we have applied the theory in our lives.

For beginning, we don’t have to start by donating big amount of money unless we can afford it. It should start with small amount of money or we could start by giving our stuffs like clothes, toys or others that we and other people think it is still worth giving to the needy. Please make sure that the stuffs that we are going to give are still in good condition. After all, this is about charity and it should be coming from our sincerity.

Bragger and Donation

Why I emphasize this! It is because I start to realize that nowadays people like to brag the amount of donation that they’ve donated. It is great that you’ve helped the needy but to tell people about your kindness would only backfired you and you would not be getting the ‘pahala’. People tend to think that you would be doing this charity due to the popularity and it is not about sincerity.

It is a wise decision for you not to tell anyone as this charity is between you and Allah. The more discreet the donation, the better it would be.

Sadly, in this world people love to be bragger rather than doing it sincerely. I’ve read this story about this person who was always doing charity publicly. What I meant is this person loves to get attention from others about the kindness that this person has done. The “pahala” that this person has gotten has been carried by an angle to Allah but sadly Allah has rejected this pahala and this action has made this angle confused. As far as this angle is concern, this person has done good deeds but why Allah is not accepting these good deeds. Weird huh?!

Later Allah said although this person has done kindness, this kindness doesn’t tally with the sincerity and this person wanted to show off to everyone about his kindness and wealth.
When it comes to sincerity, only Allah and the related khalifah aware of it!

Dhuhr Prayers/ Solat Dhuha

When it comes to sedekah, it does not involve with material stuffs. To those people who unable to sedekah in material wise they can perform dhuhr prayers or solat dhuha. This solat is encouraged in Islam as it provides a lot of benefits to a person who performs it. Besides that, you would get ‘rezeki’, your life would be easier and in peace and whatever your wish for inshaa allah would be granted. Above all, perform this solat because of you want to add more good deeds in your life. When you read the ‘dua’ after you performed the solat dhuha you would understand what I’m trying to tell you!! ( Sorry guys as I'm not uploading dua after dhuhr prayers. You can google it. )

Ok guys..this story inshaa allah will be continued later as I need to make some research  before sharing with you..My wish is all of us would be blessed by Allah and would lead to a wonderful life as khalifah, Inshaa allah..adios!
